A Blue Alert is an urgent alert from police to alert the public about a dangerous person who might be armed and violent. It is used in cases involving active shooters. The goal is to promptly inform the public and recommend precautions to ensure safety. Recently, authorities in Texas activated a Blue Alert for an individual charged with assaulting a law enforcement officer.
