Sami Zayn captured the Undisputed WWE Championship by beating CM Punk. That result came out of the September 11 Friday Night SmackDown in Mexico City. The show ended in a chaotic main event as the night's finale. WWE posted the complete bout footage for fans. Bleacher Report gave results, grades, and arena reactions out of the building. Fox News also reported the title change.

Zayn left with the title after the fight in celebration. The SmackDown main event finished with Zayn raising the gold in the ring. No other match details came out at that time. That was the September 11 edition of the show.
